Mysore Style Ashtanga Yoga

An assisted self practice class in which students are taught the Ashtanga Yoga series individually with hands on adjustments and verbal instruction from the teacher. This class is appropriate for all levels of practitioner from beginner to advanced. Beginning students, or those new to the Mysore Style, should come to the “Beginner’s Mysore” (see below). New students are welcome to come and observe the Mysore Style class at any time. This will answer any questions you may have about the Mysore Style, the traditional teaching method of Ashtanga Yoga.


Beginner’s Mysore

Taught within the Mysore class for those new to Ashtanga Yoga. Get personalized assistance while you begin learning the Ashtanga sequence at your own level. Requires an 8 Class/30 Day “Beginner’s Series” or a “Monthly Unlimited”.

Led Beginner’s

A group led class for those new to Ashtanga Yoga that systematically presents the fundamentals of this vinyāsa method (breathing, dṛṣṭi (meditative gazing) & bandhas (internal core-strength)) to develop a steady & long lasting foundation.


Led Ashtanga Yoga

A group led class in which students are counted through the postures of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series with hands on adjustments and direction by the teacher. This class focuses on teaching to the level of each individual.


Sanskrit Chanting

Learn the fundamentals of Sanskrit chanting with correct pronunciation and intonation through recitations from texts such as the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads. Donations go to the KPJ Trust in Mysore, India.

Intro to Ashtanga Course

This is a foundational course designed for those new to yoga and/or Ashtanga that teaches all you need to know to begin the practice of Ashtanga Yoga.

While learning the fundamental postures of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series, you will be introduced to the essential elements upon which the Ashtanga practice is founded. You will learn how to breathe correctly, in a way that energizes your whole system, about dṛṣṭi (meditative gazing - the correct places to focus the eyes), about bandhas (the internal core strength of the pelvic floor and lower spine), and about the process of vinyāsa (how the sequence of movements and postures link with breathing). All this and more is taught as you are guided through the beginning postures of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. Please pre-register.


Children’s Yoga Course

The children’s yoga course is for all levels of children, ages 9 and above, whether your child is new to yoga, or has some yoga experience. Yoga practice at a young age has many benefits for children, including increased flexibility and strength, as well as learning techniques for better focus and concentration. Yoga is a tool to cultivate self confidence and equanimity, two important traits for a child”s development, that will naturally unfold into all areas of his/her life.

This course covers the basics of Ashtanga Yoga, including how to breathe correctly, meditative gazing (dṛṣṭi), internal core strength (bandhas), and an introduction to the Primary Series - all in a fun environment that allows the children to play on their yoga mats. Please pre-register.
